1. What will the album be named?

Third Eye Blind’s 4th studio album will be called Ursa Major. The follow up will be released sometime after and feature songs that didn’t quite make the cut for Ursa Major. This follow up album will be called Ursa Minor.

2. What is the release date?

There is no set date. Ursa Major is tentatively slated to be release in the spring of 2009.

3. Who is playing on bass on the new album?

Arion is not with the band for those that have been out of the loop for a few years. At the moment, the band is trying out different bassists. No one final person has been picked and we can’t release any names until tracks have been laid down. Keep checking back though. Also, the studio bassist may not be the touring bassist. Just something to keep in mind for after the album is released.

4. Are all of the lyrics finished?

Yes. The only things keeping this record from being released are technical. The creative side to the album is finished. That’s not to say that Stephan won’t go back and change a word here and there.

5. Will we get to see the band in the studio at all?

Stephen Albanese will be in the studio to document it, so it's possible we'll see some videos/pictures.

6. Who will be distributing the record? Is 3eb signed to a major record label?

Third Eye Blind is currently working on their own imprint record label with major label distribution. That label though, has yet to be announced.

7. How many songs will be on the album?

So far, word is that there should be 14 songs. This number could change though and this is not yet final.

8. How many songs are left to record?

As of July 1st, there were 9 songs to record with the plan to record one song a week. This does not mean that they will be finished in 9 weeks. Third Eye Blind will be touring Japan and playing other shows here and there that will break up this time frame.
